Velana International Airport has revealed a bit of their new international passenger terminal building recently, where the development work is still on going. The new terminal building will be more spacious compared to the existing terminal, being able to accommodate up to 7.5 million passengers annually.

Further developments include aero boarding bridges, state-of-the-art and baggage handling systems, host a wide range of F&B outlets, Retail spaces, Lounges, and other services. The terminal is designed to offer IATA level B service consisting of an increased built-up area of more than 78,000 square meters.
