Assets Group and Azimut Yachts have formed a strategic partnership to launch an 18-yacht luxury fleet across two Maldives resorts.

Assets Group has announced a strategic partnership with Italian yacht builder Azimut Yachts to introduce a dedicated fleet of 18 luxury yachts in the Maldives from 2026.

The fleet will serve guests of Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi and the forthcoming Rosewood Ranfaru Maldives, extending the resort experience beyond the islands through private yacht transfers and cruising experiences.

The agreement was signed on 13 September 2026 during the Cannes Yachting Festival aboard Azimut's Grande 44M flagship.

Of the 18 yachts planned for the fleet, 15 will be from Azimut's Magellano Series, a crossover range designed for comfortable long-distance cruising and contemporary onboard living.

The partnership will also see the establishment of an Azimut Service Center in Malé, providing dedicated technical and operational support for the fleet. The facility will be supported by Azimut's team in Italy and Azimut Yachts Maldives, powered by regional partner Elite Yachts.

According to Azimut | Benetti Group CEO Marco Valle, the partnership will strengthen the company's presence in the Maldives while creating new opportunities for the brand within the ultra-luxury hospitality sector.

For Assets Group, a subsidiary of Qatar-based Power International Holding, the initiative forms part of its wider strategy to enhance the guest journey across its Maldives hospitality portfolio. The company says the 18-yacht fleet will make it the operator of the largest private luxury yacht fleet in the Indian Ocean.

While Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi is already operational, Rosewood Ranfaru is currently scheduled to open in 2027. The resort is being developed across a collection of private islands in South Malé Atoll.

The partnership reflects the growing integration of luxury hospitality and private yachting in the Maldives, with the fleet set to offer guests a more seamless way to experience the destination both on land and at sea.
