Kapil Mathur, a seasoned luxury hospitality professional with more than 18 years of experience, has been appointed Director of Sales & Marketing at JW Marriott Maldives Kaafu Atoll Island Resort, effective 1 September 2026.
Kapil joins JW Marriott Maldives Kaafu Atoll Island Resort from SO/ Maldives, where he served as Director of Sales & Marketing for more than two years, overseeing the resort’s commercial strategy and international business development. During his tenure, he strengthened the resort’s presence across key source markets while cultivating strategic relationships with luxury travel partners, wholesalers, and key accounts.
Prior to SO/ Maldives, Kapil held senior commercial positions across the Maldives hospitality landscape, including with Grand Park Kodhipparu Maldives and Universal Resorts, where he worked with renowned properties including Baros, Milaidhoo, Kurumba, Velassaru, Kandolhu and Kuramathi. These experiences have equipped him with deep expertise in the destination’s luxury resort market and the international travel trade. Early in his career, Kapil was associated with The Oberoi Hotels & Resorts in New Delhi, where he built a solid foundation in luxury hospitality and hotel operations.

Bringing extensive knowledge of the Maldives luxury resort market and international travel trade, Kapil offers a strong breadth of expertise across commercial strategy, sales, marketing, revenue management and market development. In his new role at JW Marriott Maldives Kaafu Atoll Island Resort, he will lead the resort’s sales and marketing strategy, cultivating international demand, strengthening strategic partnerships and further shaping the resort’s presence within the luxury hospitality landscape.
