Dusit Thani Maldives is pleased to announce the appointment of Khun Jean-Louis Ripoche as General Manager, effective from October 1st, 2023. With over 40 years of experience in the hospitality industry, including an impressive 25-year career in leadership roles at renowned hotels and resorts worldwide, Khun Jean-Louis brings a wealth of expertise to his new position.
Khun Jean-Louis’s remarkable journey in the hospitality industry began in 1982 when he joined Le Meridien Abu Dhabi as a Management Trainee, which was part of the Starwood family. From there, he embarked on a distinguished career with Starwood, taking on leadership roles at various Le Meridien properties, including Le Meridien Boston, Le Meridien Kuwait, Le Meriden Phuket, Le Meridien Jakarta, Le Meridien Hotel & Tower Bangkok, and Le Meridien Khao Lak.
His experience extends beyond Starwood, as Khun Jean-Louis has also served as the General Manager of Sheraton Tel Aviv Hotel & Towers in Tel Aviv, Israel, Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa, W Maldives Retreat & Spa, Mövenpick Hotel and Casino Malabata in Tangier, Morocco, and as the Cluster General Manager of Kathmandu Marriott and Fairfield Kathmandu by Marriott in Nepal.
Throughout his illustrious career, Khun Jean-Louis has consistently achieved outstanding results, making significant contributions to the success of the hotels he has managed, whether during operational, pre-opening, or new opening phases. His achievements have consistently centered around driving revenue growth and enhancing guest and employee satisfaction.
Before joining Dusit Thani Maldives, Khun Jean-Louis gained invaluable experience as the General Manager of Kandima Maldives Resort, where he skillfully oversaw resort operations and adeptly navigated the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. He enriched the guest experience by curating an extensive entertainment program that showcased local culture. Fluent in both French and English, Khun Jean-Louis holds diplomas from the Hotel School of Paris, ‘Jean Drouant,’ including a Post-Graduate degree in Restaurant Management and Hotel Operation. Additionally, he possesses professional diplomas and certificates in Classical Cooking from Ferrandi, the School of the Chamber of Commerce Paris.
