MMPRC’s Thrilling Roadshow Across Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur & Bangkok

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), also known as Visit Maldives, successfully hosted the first of three roadshows in Southeast Asia (SEA) on July 31, 2023, in Jakarta, Indonesia. This event focused on fostering valuable connections with tour operators and travel agents from the region, aiming to enhance trade relationships and solidify SEA as a top source market for the Maldives. The roadshow also sought to showcase the unique products and experiences the Maldives offers, aligned with the strategies tailored for the SEA market.

The roadshow in Jakarta was just the beginning of a dynamic campaign to promote Maldives’ tourism in Southeast Asia. The second roadshow will occur in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on August 2, 2023, followed by the third in Bangkok, Thailand, on August 4, 2023.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from 17 leading companies within the Maldivian tourism industry, each presenting their distinctive products and services to the SEA market. Among the prominent participants were Adaaran Resorts & Heritance Aarah Maldives, Furaveri Island Resort & Spa, Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives, Inner Maldives Holidays, Island Life Travel, Lily Beach Resort & Spa, Maldives Getaways, Oaga Art Resort, Plumeria Hotels and Resorts, Pullman Maldives Maamutaa, Resort Life Maldives, Roam Maldives, Splendid Asia, Sun Siyam Travels, The Residence Maldives, Travel Connection Maldives, and UI Maldives. The presence of these renowned tourism companies underscored the commitment of the Maldives’ tourism sector to meet the preferences and demands of the SEA market.

During the roadshow in Jakarta, MMPRC conducted a raffle, and the fortunate winner was awarded a complimentary three-night stay at Adaaran Club Rannalhi. For the upcoming raffles in Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok, the winners will enjoy three-night stays at both Adaaran Club Rannalhi and Pullman Maldives Maamutaa, and a five-night stay at Furaveri Island Resort and Spa, respectively. These incentives added an element of excitement to the roadshow and enticed SEA travelers to explore the stunning Maldives.

SEA holds significant importance as a source market for the Maldives’ tourism industry. By May 2023, the region had already contributed 24,573 arrivals to the Maldives. To further boost the presence of the Maldives in this crucial market, MMPRC has employed a comprehensive 360-degree approach. Throughout 2023, the corporation has actively promoted the Maldives at significant travel fairs in SEA, such as MATTA 2023 in Malaysia and ADEX Ocean Mission 2023 in Singapore. Additionally, MMPRC has plans to participate in upcoming significant trade shows, including NATAS Holidays 2023 and ITB Asia 2023, among others. These strategic marketing initiatives demonstrate the unwavering commitment of MMPRC to provide unforgettable experiences in the “Sunny Side of Life” for all SEA travelers.

With the successful Jakarta roadshow marking the beginning of a series of engaging events, the Maldives’ tourism industry is all set to strengthen its foothold in the Southeast Asian market. As the campaign continues to unfold, travelers from SEA can look forward to discovering the beauty and splendor of the Maldives while experiencing world-class hospitality and unique offerings from the participating Maldivian companies.
