Distinguished speakers from Maldives engaged in discussions with German and global media during the exclusive Maldives Media Meet conference.

Visit Maldives, also known as the Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), has successfully concluded the Maldives Media Meet press conference, which took place at the Hybrid Studio, Hall 5.3, Messe Berlin on March 7th, 2023, during the ITB Berlin event. The event was attended by representatives from travel trade companies, media, and tourism-related organizations, as well as 45 individuals who watched the conference through ITB Explore.

The conference was led by Mr. Thoyyib Mohamed, the CEO & MD of MMPRC, and joined by Maldives Tourism Industry Pioneer, Mr. Hussain Afeef, and the Minister of Tourism of the Maldives, H.E Dr. Abdulla Mausoom. The conference began with Mr. Afeef’s opening remarks on the evolution of Maldives tourism, followed by Minister Mausoom’s speech on the tourism industry’s way forward. MMPRC’s CEO & MD, Mr. Thoyyib, then provided an overview of the blueprint behind the Maldives’ success as the World’s Leading Destination for the past three consecutive years and discussed the Visit Maldives Storytellers’ Conference 2023.

During the conference, MMPRC launched the ’50 Ultimate Experiences’ Maldives guidebook curated by Visit Maldives in celebration of the 50-year milestone of the Maldives tourism industry. The conference also provided an opportunity for the speakers to answer questions from attendees, further promoting the Visit Maldives Storytellers’ Conference 2023 and highlighting the achievements, awards, and future of the Maldives tourism industry and its relationship with Germany. The event’s purpose was to connect with leading media representatives from Germany and other global markets and present a cohesive story of how the Maldives tourism industry came to be beyond statistics, numbers, and figures.
