British Airways, the national carrier of the UK, will start regular flights to the Maldives the following year, in 2023.

In contrast to the present system of seasonal flights, British Airways will start operating scheduled flights to the Maldives beginning in 2019. British Airways currently only offers seasonal service to the Maldives during the winter time.

The airlines are anticipated to operate throughout the upcoming year.

The UK market has consistently been a reliable one for the Maldives and has maintained a significant presence throughout the country’s tourism history. Arrivals from the UK increased as British Airways restarted direct flights to the Maldives, helping the airline rank third this year with a 10.8% market share. The Maldives have welcomed more than 170,000 visitors from the UK so far this year.
