A New Livery Is Unveiled By Villa Air
Villa Air is a privately owned airline that was founded on March 14, 2011, and it started operating on October 1, 2011. The first privately built airport in the Maldives, Villa Airport Maamigili, served as the airline’s base of operations when it initially started operating.
Flights started off with just one ATR 42-500, with Maamigili and Male’ being the main routes run. The airline now has four ATR series aircraft, including the most recent ATR 72-600.
For a brief time, FlyMe ran seaplane operations out of a Cessna Caravan. Additionally, FlyMe stated that it will begin operating the well-liked DHC6 Twin Otter as a seaplane in 2019 after Velana International Airport’s new seaplane terminal was finished.
In September 2020, FlyMe got its Air Operators Certificate (AOC) for international operations and began offering flights abroad. The company has ambitious plans to expand its fleet by adding Airbus jet aircraft to better serve customers in Sri Lanka, India, and other countries.
