The deepest diver ever, Herbert Nitsch, is scheduled to take part in Neyvaa 2 as a special guest diver.
Austrian freediver Herbert Nitsch has held world records in each of the eight freediving specialties that AIDA International has recognized. He is "the deepest man on earth" and the current freediving world record holder. When he established a world record in the "No Limit" category at a depth of 214 meters, he was awarded this title (702 feet). He currently has 33 recognized world records in all types of freediving.
On October 1, 2022, Neyvaa 2 will seek to break the record for the most individuals doing static apnea concurrently around the globe. The contestants are now being trained and prepared for the event by the Freedive Maldives.
This event, which was planned to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of 50 years of tourism in the Maldives, will spread the love of freediving around the world and put the Maldives on the map for this activity. Neyvaa 2 will conduct static apnea as a collective act at the designated time in various locations throughout the Maldives.
Neyvaa 2 also emphasizes raising public awareness of climate change. The event, which promotes awareness of the global climate catastrophe that is harming our island vacation resort, uses the hashtag #1breath4theoceans.
