Spearheaded by Laura Allevi, the resort’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Manager, the celebration was a reflection of the property’s broader sustainability goals under Dusit International’s Tree of Life programme. With a strong background in sustainable tourism and a passion for community engagement and conservation, Laura continues to lead initiatives that embed eco-conscious values into the guest journey and operational culture at the resort.

A Day of Action and Awareness

Guests took part in five specially curated activities, each designed to honour the Earth and foster a deeper connection with the environment:

A Plant-Based Cooking Class was held at the Market, where guests explored the flavours and benefits of sustainable cuisine prepared with locally sourced ingredients.

At Devarana Wellness, the Love Earth Wood Painting session provided a creative space for guests to reflect on their relationship with nature through art, using sustainable materials.

The Coral Planting activity at the Dive Centre invited guests to work alongside the Ocean Group and our in-house marine experts to attach coral fragments to nursery frames, directly contributing to reef restoration in our lagoon.

The day concluded with the creation of a stunning Earth Mandala in the Devarana Garden, where guests and team members came together to form a symbolic artwork using natural materials found around the island.

“Our Earth Day programme was more than a celebration — it was a reminder of the responsibility we all share,” said Laura Allevi. “It was truly inspiring to see guests and team members come together with a shared purpose to honour and protect the environment we are so fortunate to call home.”

Located in the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll, Dusit Thani Maldives continues to set a benchmark for sustainability-led luxury hospitality, delivering experiences that leave a positive and lasting impact on the planet and its people.
