Komandoo Island Resort & Spa, the adults-only haven known for its tranquility, romance, and authentic Maldivian charm, has announced the appointment of Ahmed Naseem (affectionately known as Beyya) as its new General Manager. With nearly three decades of industry experience, both in the Maldives and abroad, Naseem brings a deeply rooted passion for service, leadership, and team empowerment to his new role.

Naseem’s remarkable journey began in 1996 at just 16 years old when he took his first job as a waiter at Kurumba Maldives, the island that pioneered Maldivian tourism. His early exposure to world-class hospitality lit a spark that would drive him through an extraordinary career, rising through the ranks at some of the Maldives’ most prestigious resorts including Huvafen Fushi, W Maldives, Soneva Fushi, Anantara Kihavah Villas, Vakkaru Maldives, and Kanuhura Maldives.

Internationally, Naseem honed his operational and leadership skills at Six Senses Zighy Bay in Oman, followed by a key role during the pre-opening of Anantara Jabal Al Akhdar, where he served as Villa Operations Manager. His international stints enriched his perspective, enabling him to blend local authenticity with globally recognized luxury standards.

Most recently, Naseem served as Executive Assistant Manager at Milaidhoo Maldives, where he played a pivotal role in elevating guest experience standards, streamlining operations, and mentoring the next generation of hospitality professionals. Now at Komandoo, Naseem is set to continue his legacy of excellence by nurturing a team-oriented culture and delivering deeply personalized experiences to guests.
