In honour of World Cancer Day, Sun Siyam Iru Fushi hosted events on February 3 and 4, 2025, under the theme "United by Unique," to raise awareness in the fight against cancer. The events included a Cancer Awareness session, a High Tea for Awareness, and a Pilates for Wellness, all aimed at promoting unity and healthy living.
On February 3, students from N. Holhudhoo School were invited to attend the Cancer Awareness event led by Dr. Kalyan Adhikari, the resort doctor. The event featured an informative presentation and interactive discussions aimed at educating participants about the importance of early cancer detection and prevention strategies. Attendees heard inspiring messages from the management team, enjoyed refreshments, and took a tour of the resort.
As part of the Sun Siyam Cares initiative, welcoming local students is vital in fostering community engagement and promoting health awareness. Engaging with experts empowers them to share valuable knowledge with their families, while the resort tour instils a sense of pride and responsibility for their local environment.
The events continued on February 4 with a special "High Tea for Awareness," while a Pilates session with a wellness expert focused on mindfulness and well-being. This gathers guests to unite to promote cancer awareness, support each other, and strengthen our community's resolve against the disease.
"We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone participating in these significant events. Everyone’s’ contributions are invaluable as we remain committed to raising awareness about cancer and supporting those who are impacted by it." - Abdulla Atham, Resort Manager
