Liveaboards and dive industry in the Maldives promoted at Dive Mena Expo

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) recently sponsored the National Boating Association of Maldives (NBAM) to participate in the Dive MENA Expo 2023 in Dubai Harbour from March 1-5, 2023. As part of its efforts to support the promotion of local liveaboards and the diving industry, MMPRC supported NBAM’s participation at this prestigious event, which brings together manufacturers, suppliers, yachting elite, and customers seeking dive and liveboard experiences.

Dive MENA Expo has been a key dive event in the region since 2008, and MMPRC’s sponsorship of NBAM’s participation in this event aims to provide opportunities for Maldivian diving and liveaboard service providers to promote their products and services globally. By sponsoring participation in this event, MMPRC aims to advertise and promote local liveaboards and the unique dive experiences that tourists enjoy in the Maldives, and create brand awareness for the destination to further enhance its reach into key potential markets.

This initiative aligns with MMPRC’s strategy to support local stakeholders in promoting the various segments and unique selling points of the Maldives globally. The Middle East consists of countries that are key markets for the Maldives, with over 1,675,303 arrivals from January to December 2022. To tap into these markets, MMPRC has been holding several activities over the last year, including participation in major fairs and marketing campaigns with travel trade. Ongoing activities for the Middle East include the Cozmo Travel Campaign and Emirates.

By sponsoring NBAM’s participation in Dive MENA Expo, MMPRC hopes to increase the visibility of Maldives as a dive and liveaboard destination and attract more tourists from the Middle East region. This initiative also showcases MMPRC’s commitment to supporting local stakeholders and promoting the unique features of the Maldives to a global audience. Overall, this sponsorship is a step towards strengthening the Maldives’ position as a leading tourism destination, and creating opportunities for local businesses to showcase their products and services to a wider audience.
