MMPRC Promotes Maldives at IMM Australia 2023
Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), also known as Visit Maldives, participated in the International Media Marketplace (IMM Australia) 2023 in Sydney from February 23rd to 24th to promote Maldives as a sunny holiday destination in the Australian market. This event provided an excellent opportunity for MMPRC to meet with top journalists and media publications from the Oceanic region and promote upcoming events such as the Visit Maldives Storytellers’ Conference 2023. The participation also aimed to gain greater insight into the Oceanic market and to strengthen the destination’s presence.
During the exclusive TravMedia summit on the first day, MMPRC attended panel discussions on broadcast media and inclusive tourism, followed by networking sessions with over 150 A-list media in the region. Keynote speeches and panel discussions on topics such as the role of DMO’s in 2023 and public relations were also conducted. The event attracted top media such as BBC Travel, Conde Nast Traveler, Vogue Magazine, National Geographic Traveler, and more. On the second day, MMPRC conducted 22 pre-scheduled meetings at a dedicated Maldives table.
MMPRC participated in IMM Australia to promote Maldives as a preferred holiday destination for travellers and to update Australian media with the latest information and travel guidelines from the destination. The strategy aims to increase future bookings and arrival figures from Australia and New Zealand. As of February 20th, 2023, Maldives had welcomed 4,125 tourists from Australia. Last year, MMPRC also participated in IMM Australia and conducted campaigns for the market, including campaigns with TravMedia membership and Stab Magazine. A campaign with Robb Report is ongoing this year, and several exciting activities are planned for the rest of the year.
