Ministry of Tourism has stated that tourist arrivals from Italy have risen by a whopping 1,024% this year.

The tourism ministry has shown their statistics where Italy is Maldives’ 5^th largest market with 49,080 visits in this year alone, which is a 1,024% increase from last year’s this time.

As of 20^th July, Maldives has recorded a total of 900,808 tourist arrivals which is a 58% increase from last year’s numbers from the same period.

Moreover, the statistics show that the Maldives’ number one market is India with 120,604 arrivals, which is a 35% increase. The 2^nd highest was UK with 96,470 tourist arrivals.

Tourist arrivals to the Maldives have increased this year with the top markets being India, UK, Russia, Germany, Italy, US, UAE, France, Switzerland, and Saudi Arabia.
