Joali Maldives: ‘Together We Blossom’ 2024 Easter
JOALI Maldives, the first and only art-immersive resort in the Maldives located in the Raa Atoll, invites guests to experience Easter with curated activities and speciality celebrations from 28th March to 7th April 2024. Easter at JOALI Maldives’ theme of ‘Together WE Blossom’ symbolises the coming together of people in celebration, much like the blossoming of flowers in spring.
During Easter, JOALI Maldives will be joined by a variety of world-renowned visiting practitioners, chefs and artists who will all be leading an array of workshops, dinners, and interactive experiences for guests to participate in during their holiday. This includes:
- Robert Montgomery: A poetry to Her Island of Joy, join Montgomery, a British contemporary artist, in a special ‘fire poem’ ritual where his poetry will blaze against the sky, illuminating the fiery power of art. A celebrated figure in art, his work was recently showcased in the Musée du Louvre exhibition, “La Suite de l’Histoire”.
- Greta Bellamacina: Famed British poet, actress, and filmmaker, best known for her big-screen debut in 2005 as a Slytherin student in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. She will be releasing her new book, ‘Who Make the Fire,’ with a special signing ceremony on 1st April 2024.
- Zubaid Toefy: A fitness expert and CrossFit aficionado, guests of all ages interested in experiencing the art of movement can join Toefy for various fitness class offerings.
- Marie Méon: Méon’s multidisciplinary studio Manger Manger, which creates narratives composed of edible elements to be viewed and tasted, will add a new dimension of culinary delight to the island over Easter.
- Karim Khouani: The Michelin-starred Chef will create an unforgettable holiday dinner with a five-course menu crafted with premium seafood and paired with fine wines for an evening of exceptional culinary elegance.
- Joao Santos: A renowned massage therapist with 20 years of experience, Santos will introduce guests to the basics of foot reflexology using hands-on techniques to discover acupressure points that correspond to specific parts of the body.
- Hamna ‘Hamty’ Husain & Martina Trepczyk: As part of the brand’s overarching commitment to female empowerment, JOALI Maldives will host an exclusive screening of TIGEREYES on 30th March, a film about Hamna ‘Hamty’ Husain, the first and only female scuba diver on a remote Maldivian island who dives regularly with the world’s most feared and misunderstood animal, the tiger shark. The experience will also include discussions with both Hamty and director Martina Trepczyk, two trailblazing women who will be sharing their perspectives on conservation, art, and activism with guests. This film experience will be accompanied by the “In Our Hands” exhibition, which is Trepczyk’s collection of ethical underwater photography and conceptualised sensual art.
