Vijai Singh Appointed as Area Vice President for Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts’ Maldives Portfolio

Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, the leading hotel chain in Sri Lanka, has announced the appointment of Vijai Singh as the Area Vice President for its Maldives Resort Portfolio. In his new role, Singh will be responsible for driving business efficiencies and operational execution across all four of the company’s Maldives resorts, with the aim of enhancing the guest experience and strengthening the brand’s position in the luxury tourism space.

Singh is a seasoned hospitality professional with over 27 years of experience in luxury resorts, having worked with global hospitality brands such as IHG Hotels & Resorts, Taj Hotels & Resorts, and Starwood Hotels & Resorts, among others. He is an international award-winning General Manager, having been recognized as one of the Top 100 General Managers in the world by Luxury Lifestyle Awards and the Most Valuable General Manager in 2022 by the International GM Awards.

Prior to joining Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, Singh held the role of General Manager at the InterContinental Fujairah Resort in the UAE. He has spearheaded over 6 luxury resort pre-openings and one re-branding, making him a valuable addition to the Cinnamon team.

As the Area Vice President for Cinnamon’s Maldives portfolio, Singh will work with a dynamic team to curate unique and unparalleled service experiences and offerings that capture the essence of the Maldives under Cinnamon’s lens for luxury travelers around the world. His extensive experience in luxury tourism and senior leadership roles in the hospitality industry will be crucial in driving the brand’s success in the Maldives, a destination that continues to attract and stay relevant for tourists from all over the world.
