Barceló Hotels and Resorts is thrilled to announce the appointment of Usman Ibrahim as the new Cluster Director of Housekeeping. This promotion underscores Ibrahim’s remarkable career and his significant contributions to the hospitality industry.
Usman’s career began in 2004 as a speedboat crew member. By 2006, he had transitioned to a Villa Attendant role at Raniya Private Island, marking the beginning of a distinguished career in housekeeping. His dedication and expertise led him to positions at renowned resorts such as Velaa Private Island,Chaaya Lagoon Hakuraahuraa, AAA Hotels and Resorts, and Baglioni Maldives.
Usman’s extensive experience includes playing a crucial role in the pre-opening phases of seven resorts: Vilamendhoo, Baglioni, Kandima,Furaveri  Nova, Niyaama Private Island, and Barceló Whale Lagoon Maldives. He has showcased his exceptional skills and capabilities in establishing and managing top-tier housekeeping operations.
As an executive committee member of the Maldives Housekeeping Association (MHA), Ibrahim is committed to nurturing young talent within the industry. He believes that investing in the development of emerging professionals is vital for the growth and advancement of housekeeping. Through various training programs, workshops, and housekeeping competitions organized by MHA, Ibrahim and his team provide invaluable opportunities for young individuals to showcase their skills, gain industry exposure, and foster innovation.
Additionally, MHA collaborates with resorts and institutions to offer internship and mentorship programs, giving students hands-on experience and guidance from seasoned professionals. These initiatives are designed to build confidence, refine skills, and prepare young talent for successful careers in housekeeping.
