Abdulla Ghiyas appointed as MMPRC’s New Chairperson
Abdulla Ghiyas, the president of the Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO), has assumed the role of chairperson at the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC). This appointment, effective as of Thursday, marks a significant transition in the leadership of one of the country’s pivotal tourism bodies.
Abdulla Ghiyas brings with him over two decades of robust experience within the tourism sector, positioning him as a seasoned professional well-versed in the intricacies of Maldives’ tourism landscape. His ascension to this new role follows the departure of Aisha Nurain Janah, who resigned from the chairperson’s post on May 21.
The recent changes at MMPRC also saw Ibrahim Shiuree stepping into the role of managing director following the departure of Fathimath Thaufeeq.
