Rooted in his family’s rich culinary legacy in São Paulo’s iconic Liberdade district, Chef Kazuo embarks on a culinary journey unlike any other, inviting guests to join him. During his residency at KŌEN, Chef Kazuo will oversee an exclusive series of omakase dinners, where patrons can delight in
the harmonious fusion of Japanese tradition and Brazilian innovation showcased in each meticulously prepared dish. Additionally, he explores local markets to source inspiration from indigenous ingredients, fashioning a menu truly unique to his residency.
Born to a Japanese father and a Brazilian mother, Chef Kazuo’s passion for gastronomy was ignited by his grandfather, who navigated the challenges and triumphs of owning an oriental restaurant in the heart of Liberdade. His culinary journey began at the esteemed Grand Hyatt in São Paulo, leading him to immersive experiences in Japan and Dubai. Most recently, Chef Kazuo was honored as Chef of the Year 2023/2024 by Veja Comer & Beber, cementing his status as a culinary luminary.
Chef Kazuo Harada joins an esteemed roster of culinary luminaries hosted at Patina Maldives, including the renowned Michelin-starred chef BoBech. Chef Bech delighted guests with his presence in January and will return in September to further showcase the Nordic culinary movement at KŌEN. Together, these culinary maestros epitomise excellence, promising guests an unforgettable dining experience that transcends boundaries and celebrates the artistry of global cuisine.
