Muscat-based airline, Oman Air, is gearing up to inaugurate its new flight service to the Maldives as the winter season approaches. Commencing on June 24, the airline will connect Oman's capital city, Muscat, with Velana International Airport in the Maldives four times a week.
With the ticket price set at US$385, travelers can now enjoy convenient and direct flights between Oman and the tropical paradise of the Maldives.
While this marks Oman Air's latest venture into the Maldives, it is not their first attempt. The airline previously operated flights to the Maldives in 2016, 2018, and 2019; however, those attempts faced sustainability challenges and were discontinued.
Currently, the Maldives Airports Company (MACL) reports that a total of 35 airlines operate flights to this popular tourist destination. With Oman Air's entry into the market, travelers will have even more options to choose from when planning their journey to the Maldives.
