Love in the Maldives”: Exploring the Stunning Filming Locations

Love in the Maldives, a Hallmark movie, offers a refreshing take on the traditional love story genre. The plot follows a career-driven female lead, Rae, who travels to the Maldives for a work assignment and finds herself charmed by a local man. While the plot may seem like the typical Hallmark movie, the film’s backdrop is what sets it apart from others in the genre. The movie showcases the stunning island paradise that is the Maldives, providing viewers with a glimpse of the beautiful scenery that this country has to offer.

The movie was filmed on location in the Maldives, with no green screens or special effects involved. According to reports, the filmmakers traveled to some of the most luxurious spots in the Maldives to capture the stunning scenery. The Maldives is a tropical paradise consisting of 1,192 islands, with the biggest island being roughly three square miles. The country is located in the Indian Ocean, southwest of India, and has a population of around 580,000.

In the movie, Rae stays at a super luxurious villa at a 5-star resort called The Marata. In reality, The Marata is The Muraka, located at the Hilton’s Conrad Maldives Rangali Island resort. The interior seen in the movie is the actual interior of The Muraka, including the famous underwater bedroom. The villa sleeps six and costs roughly $15,000 per night. The aerial shots of the island complex seen in the movie were also filmed at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island resort.

The movie also features the Ithaa Undersea Restaurant, which is located at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island resort. This restaurant offers a unique dining experience, with guests enjoying a meal while surrounded by the ocean’s marine life.
