In celebration of World Art Day on April 15, 2023, Kandima has partnered with two acclaimed international artists, Momo and Angelo Milano, to support art worldwide. Angelo Milano is a pioneering Italian artist and a key player in the Street Art movement, while Momo's art spans several mediums, including collage and computer coding, and he has collaborated with major brands like Pepsi and NFL. In February 2023, the artists joined forces to create their first Maldivian mural masterpiece at Kandima, which is known for its support of art. The mural was created at the Breeze Pool Bar, where guests can relax by the pool with daily live entertainment and stunning ocean views. The artists were inspired to paint in paradise while experiencing the Maldives and the Indian Ocean. They sought to create a special area accessible to all guests at the resort, based on their inspiration and the space provided. Kandima is dedicated to supporting art, and its KULA Art initiative is a significant CSR project that supports local artists and communities. The KULA Art Studio displays works by Maldivian artists and the resort's resident artist, and guests can take group or private art classes. The KULA Art Fund, which is funded by guest donations and art sales, supports local community initiatives focused on education, art, and music. The KULA Art Festival is an annual event that celebrates art in all its forms, showcasing the talents of local artists and entrepreneurs and ending with the Kula color run.
