The Kabans’ “Wind Walker,” the anthem for Manta Air, has been acquired by Warner Music for distribution.
Warner Music, a record label based in the US, has announced that they have acquired the distribution rights for “Wind Walker,” which is the theme song of Manta Air. This marks a milestone event for the Maldivian music industry as it becomes the first song to be signed by Warner Music from the Maldives.
The song was produced by Ahmed Faizan (Fai) and written by Naufal Naeem (Naanu), and was performed by The Kabans featuring Maisha, who are some of the top local talents in the Maldives. The Kabans are currently working on their first studio album, which will also be distributed by Warner Music and is set to be released later this year.
Ahmed Arshad (Kokko), the front man for the band, expressed his excitement, calling it an opportunity of a lifetime. He added that they are looking forward to taking their music to the next level and making the world their audience. He also thanked Manta Air and Pulse Hotels for believing in them and providing this fantastic opportunity.
Mohamed Shafraz Hafiz, the Director of Digital Technology & Marketing at Pulse Hotels & Resorts, who has been overseeing this project, sees this as a turning point for Maldivian musicians. He believes that this is a dream becoming a reality for many of them, and that Pulse Hotels & Resorts, in collaboration with Manta Air, has been at the forefront of creating a wide range of opportunities for local talent in the Maldives. He added that they have always recognized the potential of their local talent pool and that it has always been their interest to help take them to the international stage. This is just one of many exciting projects that they have in the pipeline.
