The Minister of Tourism Dr. Abdulla Mausoom attended the OTM fair held in Mumbai, India for the inauguration of the 3-day business-to-business event on a special invitation by the organizers of the fair. The High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to the Republic of India, HE Ibrahim Shaheeb and senior officials from various countries joined the inauguration event of the OTM fair held from 2-3 February at the Jio World Convention Center of Mumbai India.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Dr. Mausoom highlighted on the significance of the Indian market globally and thanked stakeholders for making India the lead market for the Maldives for 3 consecutive years.
Minister also thank the role played by the government of India and Bollywood stars in overcoming the downfall of Maldives tourism during the COVID pandemic.

After the opening ceremony, Minister Dr. Mausoom accompanied by the High Commissioner H.E Shaheeb toured the pavilions & stalls at the fair. At the visitmaldives stand Minister met the exhibitors and thanked them for their contributions to the Maldives tourism.
The Minister was accompanied by Deputy Minister of Tourism, Mr. Assad Riza and Assistant Director of the Ministry of Tourism, Mr. Ahmed Abeer Ismail during his visit to India to attend the fair. OTM is one of the largest international travel trade fairs held in India.
