Around the World Cruise docked at Malé with 1,620 passengers.
The Italian cruise ship Costa Deliziosa arrived in the Maldives earlier this week with 1,620 guests. Costa Crociere, an Italian firm, operates the trip. This is the second cruise ship to dock in Malé City this year.
The ship transported 1,620 tourists from various countries to the Maldives. The cruiser is on a 128-day globe tour, crossing three seas and stopping at 52 locations on four continents. The ship went east from the Mediterranean to Goa before arriving in the Maldives. The voyage will head south via Madagascar and South Africa before crossing the Atlantic to Brazil. The ship will continue to explore South, Central, and North America before returning to Europe in the middle of May 2023.
For 30 hours, the ship was docked at Malé. Passengers disembarked at various intervals to tour the capital. Passengers on cruise ships such as the Costa Deliziosa contribute to the Malé City tourism industry by visiting local eateries and souvenir shops.
The Costa Deliziosa features 1,130 rooms divided across four levels that can accommodate up to 2,300 guests. The ship has 12 decks, 6 of which are dedicated to guest accommodations. There are 7 swimming pools and hot tubs on board, 5 restaurants, and 12 bars and lounges. The full-size theater is used to amuse guests at sea with musicals, acrobats, comedy acts, and games.
