Angsana’s Maldives resort relaunched as Dhawa Ihuru Resort & Spa

Dhawa, which already owns a few casual-contemporary hotels in China and Japan, has just expanded to the Maldives by taking over the former Angsana Ihuru. Dhawa Ihuru Maldives is a 20-minute speedboat trip from Velana International Airport and consists of 45 villas with updated furnishings (think quirky artwork and turquoise feature walls). Six Beachfront Rainmist villas, each with 68 square meters of living space and an outside “rainmist lounge” where guests may unwind on a mesh fabric mat set into a raised deck, are being rebranded at the same time .

The dining and recreational options at Dhawa Ihuru have been enhanced by The Banyan Tree Group. The Twin Island dine-around concept allows visitors to sample the eateries of sister resort Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru, while the Nest, a common gathering place for guests at all Dhawa hotels, is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year. While the all-day beachfront venue Riveli has been rebranded Nook, Barception is a breezy sand-floored location for regional snacks and cocktails. Visitors can order bento takeout boxes filled with Japanese, Indian, Chinese, Maldivian, and Western cuisine through the Nectar delivery service and dine anywhere.

Other amenities on the site include the PADI 5-star Gold dive center, the 8lements Spa, and Activa, the 24-hour gym and yoga studio. Along with water sports like windsurfing, wakeboarding, and kayaking, the Kahan’bu catamaran offers exclusive, custom adventures. These can include snorkeling along the house reef or having a romantic dinner on a deserted island.

At Dhawa Ihuru, five all-inclusive vacation packages are available for a variety of vacationers, including gourmet tourists, wellness devotees, marine explorers, and young families.
When booking a minimum of four nights under the new All-Inclusive Island Getaway offer, guests can save 25% off the best available rates and receive free return speedboat transfers.
