Tom Sellers, a 2-Michelin-star chef, is invited to a culinary festival by The Ritz-Carlton Maldives Fari Islands

Chef Patron Tom Sellers of London’s two-Michelin-starred Restaurant Story will create an extraordinary pop-up at Beach Shack from February 13 through February 18 and serve customers a lavish 6-course literary-inspired menu. He will also spend an evening with the visitors reading from his best-selling book, “A Kind of Love Story,” during his visit. The book gives readers a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to run a top-notch Michelin-starred restaurant and offers a window into the creative process of one of the first chefs.

Chef Sellers and his crew will take over the Beach Shack for five days during his residency at The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, and present a decorated meal influenced by tales and ingredients from London to the Maldives. A Tuna Tart and his preferred Oreo cookie are two of the foods that are being promoted. Both are reminiscent of Sellers’ time spent in New York. The dish is repurposed as a savory snack, and he serves his own take on the design.

A Maldivian Reef Fish with Plum Ponzu and Kaluga Caviar, a crudo that was inspired by Head Chef Daniel Khoury, a Peruvian, and a Maldivian Lobster Ragoul with Corn, Mushroom, and Lobster Cream, reflecting on his signature pop-up experience “Story by the Sea” in Cornwall, are among the other dishes the chef prepared. Red Snapper with Saffron, Mayonnaise, Soffritto, Red Pepper Fish Sauce, and Sauce Vierge, which is modeled after Thomas Keller’s ratatouille dish, is a delicious addition to these delightful entrees.
