DAMAC Group, based in Dubai, has signed a contract with Mandarin Oriental to operate a luxury resort in the Maldives
Cannes, France, and Dubai, United Arab Emirates — 6 December 2022: The Dubai-based DAMAC Collection, through its property development subsidiary DAMAC Properties — one of the region’s leading luxury real estate developers — has announced a partnership with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group to run a new resort on a group of private islands in The Maldives.
The 34-hectare luxury resort, which is now under construction and will open in 2025, will be DAMAC Group’s first venture into the tourism islands, which are famed for their premium five-star offers.The Indian Ocean resort is spread over three private islands on Bolidhuffaru Reef in South Male Atoll, and is easily accessible by a 20-minute speedboat journey from Male’s Velana international airport.
Surrounded by the Maldives’ famous white sand beaches and bright coral reefs, the resort will provide a stunning background for visitors to enjoy a range of activities such as gourmet experiences at numerous specialized restaurants throughout the island, wellness retreats, and water sports.
The Mandarin Oriental Bolidhuffaru Reef has 130 stand-alone villas, comprising 64 overwater villas and 66 beachfront villas. The villas will be among the largest on the market, offering exclusivity and isolation, as well as private pools and stunning ocean views.
