ITA Airways Launches Flights to the Maldives from Rome Fiumicino

The Airbus A350, the company’s flagship aircraft, made its first direct trip from Rome Fiumicino to the Maldives on December 18, 2022.

The new connection will have a variable number of weekly frequencies to accommodate the anticipated demand, ranging from twice weekly, on Saturdays and Sundays (on December 17 and 18 and from January 28 to March 25), to three weekly frequencies (from December 21 to 25 and from January 19 to 22), to four weekly frequencies (from December 26 to January 1 and from January 11 to 15), and finally, to five weekly frequencies (from 2 to 8 January). Arrival at Velana – Malè International Airport is scheduled for 11:25 am local time following departure from Rome Fiumicino airport at 10:15 pm. From 18 December 2022 to 15 April 2023, a flight from Malè is planned, departing at 1:25 pm local time and landing at 7:30 or 7:45 pm in Rome Fiumicino.

Due to the flight’s continued operation through April 15, 2023, Italian tourists will be able to choose the Maldives for their Easter vacation. Additionally, thanks to ITA Airways’ strong network, passengers flying on the new route will easily connect with flights from important European airports.
