The Maldives will once again have scheduled flights starting in October, according to British Airways, the national carrier of the United Kingdom. While the British market continues to be one of the top source markets for the Maldives this year, demand for travel is anticipated to surge as the peak season quickly approaches.
Beginning on October 14 and continuing through October 30, British Airways will run four regularly scheduled flights per week to Velana International Airport (VIA). On October 30, 2022, daily service will begin. The flights will be conducted using Boeing 777 commercial aircraft.
Since 2015, British Airways has operated flights to the Maldives. 1,141,122 visitors had visited the Maldives as of September 19th, with the British market accounting for roughly 11% of the total market share.
