2 of the Maldives resorts have made it to the list of top 5 tourist hotels in the world. The Travel and Leisure magazine’s list of top 100 hotels of the world included these Maldives resorts at 3^rd and 5^th place.

Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi located near the capital city Male’ which was opened in 2019 and is run by the world renown Hilton brand scored 99.11 points from the magazine, coming in at 3^rd place on the list. At 5^th place was One & Only Reethi Rah with a score of 98.93.
