Manta Air offers the Maldives first all-female crewed seaplane service

Manta Air flew the Maldives first all-female crewed seaplane trip on Friday. Larissa Offeney and Tanya Kleynhans piloted flight NR2030 from Velana International Airport (VIA) to Soneva Jani on Noonu atoll and Aishath Muzna worked as a cabin crew member on the aircraft.

Manta Air currently has two female seaplane cabin workers on the job. Aishath Muzna and Aminath Thasleema are the Maldives first and only female seaplane cabin crews on active service. Despite the fact that three airlines operate 60+ seaplanes around the Maldives on a daily basis, seaplane cabin crew roles are largely male-dominated, with few women employed.

Manta Air is a ground-breaking indigenous airline that performs seaplane and wheeled flights across the Maldives. Manta Air’s arrival has already been a game changer in the domestic aviation industry, removing passengers fears of flight uncertainty and setting the bar in service excellence along the way with pre-published schedules and a tailored approach to providing an amazing experience to all passengers.

Manta Air operates internal flights from the Maldives central Velana International Airport to Dhaalu Airport, located on the island of Kudahuvadhoo in Dhaalu atoll, and Dharavandhoo Airport, located on the island of Dharavandhoo in Baa atoll. With a fleet of seven DHC6 Twin Otter planes, the airline also conducts the Maldives first regular seaplane service.
