LUX* South Ari Atoll collaborates with the Maldives National University to conduct courses and training programmes for the locals
During a special ceremony which was held on 10th of November, LUX* South Ari Atoll Resort & Villas on Wednesday signed an agreement with the Maldives National University’s Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies to grow the resort’s team and provide training opportunities to the locals.
As per the agreement LUX* South Ari Atoll will host an outreach Centre of the faculty, where it will be managed by the resort’s human resources and training department. Following this, the resort staff will be able to undertake courses and programmes offered by the faculty.
This collaboration together brings forward the shared aim of producing quality graduates, promoting shared excellence and the development of human capital in the hospitality and tourism sector of the Maldives. The MNU will be aiding in enhancing the qualifications of the staff currently working at LUX* South plus contributing to the neighboring islands students to complete their programmes as required by the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies as per General Manager Patrice Aira of LUX* South Ari Atoll.
In December, an apprenticeship programme will be launched with support from the faculty for the local community. This programmes purpose is to train locals in a wide range of disciplines, from F&B service, culinary and housekeeping to front office.
