A workshop led by the Ministry of Tourism has concluded to discuss the best ways to accommodate tourists. Associations, ministries, and other branches involved in the tourism industry took part in this meeting. Dr Abdullah Mausoom, the tourism minister, emphasized at the start of the workshop that developing a classification system for the entire system is critical to improving the possibilities of tourism development.
This was an important meeting to hold prior to developing and solidifying the local tourism front, as well as classifying tourist accommodation under the government's five-year strategic action plan. They discussed the names or words used to refer to where tourists usually stay in general during this discussion. They also drew attention to the regulations that other countries employ to categorize such locations.
Additionally, there were conversations about naming the One Island One Resort concept as well as naming integrated tourisms that are being developed on inhabited islands. Participants' thoughts on what elements could be employed in future goods were also gathered. The measures that will be used in the soon-to-be-introduced Home Stay Tourism were also discussed at the workshop. According to the government, homestay tourism will begin in the month of January 2022.
The tourism sector in the Maldives uses a variety of products including Hotels, guesthouses, resorts, and liveaboards as the four main categories.
