Niva Dhigali Maldives, in collaboration with the Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI), hosted the 14th and 15th sessions of the Discover Tourism: Exploring Career Pathways programme on 14th and 15th June 2026.
The sessions welcomed students from Maduvvaree School (R. Madduvvari) on 14th June and students from Raa Atoll Education Centre (formerly Meedhoo School) (R. Meedhoo) on 15th June, for an immersive, full-day introduction to resort hospitality and tourism careers at Niva Dhigali Maldives.

Each session commenced with welcome remarks delivered by Christian Szabo, General Manager of Niva Dhigali Maldives, who introduced students to the resort and shared his perspective on the opportunities that await young Maldivians in the tourism industry.
Students were then taken on a Villa Exposure and Housekeeping Experience, offering a guided introduction to the resort's accommodation offerings and the standards of presentation and care that define luxury resort housekeeping. The session provided students with a direct appreciation of the skills, attention to detail, and professionalism required in this field.

The afternoon programme featured a Kitchen Exposure and Pastry Experience, led by the resort's culinary team. Students toured the resort's kitchen facilities and participated in a handson pastry session, gaining practical insight into the teamwork, technique, and creativity that underpin professional culinary environments.
Students also participated in a tour of the resort's Main Laundry and Back of House facilities, offering a behind-the-scenes perspective on the operational departments that support the seamless delivery of guest experiences.

The two sessions at Niva Dhigali Maldives further extended the programme's reach across the northern atolls, reflecting the commitment of MATI and its member resorts to nurturing the next generation of Maldivian tourism professionals at the community level.
The Discover Tourism: Exploring Career Pathways programme is a flagship MATI initiative that provides Maldivian school students with immersive, firsthand exposure to the tourism industry. To date, the programme has been delivered in partnership with member resorts and other member entities engaged across the tourism value chain, spanning multiple atolls.
