Sun Siyam announces a series of leadership appointments across its Maldives properties, effective 22 May 2026, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to recognising talent from within and strengthening operational excellence across the portfolio.
Masdhooq Saeed has been promoted to Cluster General Manager for Sun Siyam Iru Veli and Sun Siyam Vilu Reef. In this expanded role, he will oversee the strategic direction, operational performance, guest experience, and overall success of both resorts. Having demonstrated strong leadership and consistency during his tenure as General Manager of Sun Siyam Iru Veli, Masdhooq now takes on a broader responsibility, working closely with both teams to further elevate service standards and drive continued growth.

At Sun Siyam Vilu Reef, Ibrahim Baasith has been appointed Director of Operations. A long-standing member of the Sun Siyam family, Baasith began his career with the group as a receptionist at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi in 2009, progressing steadily through the ranks to Front Office Manager before taking on the role of Operations Manager at Sun Siyam Olhuveli. His journey reflects a deep understanding of the brand and its people, which he now brings to Vilu Reef, where he will focus on enhancing the overall guest experience and supporting the resort’s continued growth.
Ibrahim Baasith
Ibrahim Jaaweedh has been appointed Operations Manager at Sun Siyam Olhuveli. Another long-standing member of the Sun Siyam family, Jaaweedh began his journey with the group in 2010 at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, progressing through a variety of guest-facing and leadership roles including Butler, Front Office Supervisor, and Guest Services Manager. With more than 15 years of experience in luxury hospitality and a strong background in guest experience, operations, and team development, he brings a wealth of knowledge to his new position, where he will support the continued delivery of exceptional service and operational excellence at the resort.
