Qatar Airways has announced that it will resume flights between Doha and the Maldives after a temporary halt triggered by regional tensions in the Middle East that affected major air routes. According to the updated timetable, services between Doha and Malé will restart on 8 April 2026, with up to five weekly flights initially scheduled. This arrangement will remain in place until 15 April 2026, after which a new schedule is expected to be released, subject to operational conditions.

The return of these flights will re-establish the connection between Hamad International Airport in Doha and Velana International Airport in Malé, reinstating a vital international link for the Maldives. The route is significant in supporting tourism inflows while also enabling smoother outbound travel for passengers.

This update is part of a wider adjustment across Qatar Airways’ network, which includes increased flight frequencies to more than 90 destinations worldwide. The expansion strengthens connectivity from key markets such as the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas, all of which play an important role in driving travel to the Maldives.

During the suspension period, transit through Doha was limited, especially for long-haul travellers. With services resuming, capacity is expected to improve, offering more reliable and efficient travel options as operations begin to stabilise.

The airline has also introduced a flexible rebooking policy for passengers with tickets issued for travel up to 15 June 2026, providing additional confidence amid ongoing uncertainties. Travellers are encouraged to ensure they hold confirmed tickets before departure, as schedules may still be adjusted based on operational requirements.

Qatar Airways continues to closely assess the situation and is working towards restoring full operations, including the possibility of adding extra flights where feasible. Further updates, including schedules beyond mid-April 2026, are expected to be announced soon.
