Marriott International in the Maldives concluded its first-ever China Roadshow, engaging a total of 106 travel agents across Shanghai, Chengdu, and Shenzhen. The initiative represented a major milestone and strategic effort to deepen relationships with key partners and reinforce the resort’s long-term commitment.
The roadshow was strategically designed to strengthen engagement with travel partners and showcase Marriott International’s portfolio of resorts in Maldives, highlighting a range of immersive and meaningful experiences—from curated wellness and spa journeys to distinctive dining, marine adventures, and luxury overwater and beachfront accommodations. The resorts also offer numerous picturesque settings, including some of the destination’s most social-shared spots, allowing guests to capture memorable moments and share visually stunning experiences during their stay.
By connecting directly with agents across Shanghai, Chengdu, and Shenzhen, the initiative reinforced the resorts’ commitment to delivering tailored support, driving commercial growth, and fostering long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships within one of the world’s most dynamic outbound travel markets. Agents were provided with the latest product updates, promotional strategies, and collaborative initiatives to support bookings and enhance client engagement. By leveraging its diverse portfolio of resorts in Maldives, the initiative also reinforces efforts to position the destination as a premier luxury escape for travelers from China.
This milestone coincided with the launch of China destination sales team, a dedicated commercial structure aimed at enhancing market engagement and operational efficiency. Led by Emily Zhou, Cluster Director of Destination Sales, and complemented by four account directors namely Fiona Wang, Jiang Qing Deng (Bella), Shenglan Huang (Stellan) and Zhang Hanrui (Helen), the team brings focused expertise to strengthen collaboration with travel partners, optimize business opportunities, and elevate the resort’s presence in China.
“We are delighted by the strong engagement from our partners across Shanghai, Chengdu, and Shenzhen,” said Peter Foreman, Senior Director of Sales, Marketing and Distribution – Singapore & Maldives. “This roadshow not only demonstrates our commitment to the Greater China market but also reflects the value we place on close collaboration with our trade partners. Our new China destination sales team enables us to provide more tailored support, strengthen relationships, and collectively grow our business in this key market.”
