On 15 February 2026, Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) set a new company record by handling more than 7,000 passenger transfers within a single day — the most in the airline’s history. Over the same 24‑hour period, the airline also conducted in excess of 800 take‑offs and landings across its seaplane network, highlighting the scale and intensity of operations needed during peak travel periods.
This achievement demonstrates TMA’s ongoing commitment to efficient and dependable service, even under heavy demand. The milestone was made possible through careful planning, rigorous operational coordination, and the dedication of teams working across multiple departments to ensure flights ran smoothly.
The airline says this performance reflects not only its ability to manage a high volume of flights safely and reliably, but also its vital role in connecting visitors to destinations throughout the Maldives. TMA continues to focus on maintaining high operational standards while supporting the growth of tourism in the archipelago.
