The agreement outlines cooperation on the potential launch of beOnd’s operations in Bahrain, including the development of facilities for pilot training, cabin crew training, maintenance, and ground handling. The airline plans to base up to 10 aircraft in Bahrain by 2030, serving leisure and business travellers while linking the Gulf with Europe, Asia, and North America. The initiative is expected to create over 1,200 direct high-skilled jobs in aviation and support more than 6,000 indirect roles in tourism, hospitality, and logistics. Over the first five years, the expansion could contribute $1.2–1.5 billion to Bahrain’s economy.

For the Maldives, the development reinforces beOnd’s continued growth as a Maldivian-founded premium leisure carrier and highlights the country’s expanding footprint within the wider Gulf and international aviation landscape. While specific routes and timelines have not yet been announced, the move signals the airline’s intention to strengthen its regional presence and support future network expansion.

beOnd operates an all-premium cabin configuration and focuses on connecting leisure destinations with major international markets, with the Maldives positioned as a core destination within its business model.

As discussions progress, industry observers note that beOnd’s expansion into the Gulf could, over time, contribute to broader connectivity options for travellers to and from the Maldives, particularly through enhanced cooperation with regional hubs.
