From 25^th to 28^th March 2026, Milaidhoo will host the Art Spirit Residency, welcoming Vera Alkhova, founder of Art Spirit, to its island sanctuary in the heart of Baa Atoll, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Known for her ability to make contemporary art feel approachable, emotional and alive, Vera brings her distinctive vision to Milaidhoo for a series of intimate experiences that celebrate creativity, taste and inspiration, set against the natural beauty of the Maldives.

An art consultant, curator and educator, Vera has built her career around connecting people to art through storytelling rather than theory. Through Art Spirit, she creates immersive experiences that invite conversation and personal reflection, including her much-loved programme How to Read Contemporary Art. Her residency at Milaidhoo is not about formal lectures, but about sharing art in a way that feels natural, engaging and deeply human.

Taking place in the same month as International Women’s Day, the residency also pays tribute to the voices and creative influence of women, reflected most notably in its opening experience, Women in Art. 

The residency further reflects Milaidhoo’s love for gastronomy and fine wine. Experiences unfold alongside the island’s culinary philosophy within its celebrated restaurants, where thoughtfully selected wines are paired to echo the themes of each evening and the flavours of Milaidhoo’s ingredient-driven cuisine. Everything is designed to feel relaxed and intimate, true to the spirit of the boutique private island.
