Ifuru Island Maldives welcomes Dr. Shakkeel AM, a CIDESCO-certified naturopath and acupuncturist, as a Visiting Wellness Practitioner from 28 January to 30 March, marking a key step in the resort’s vision to develop a curated Visiting Practitioner (VP) program.
With over 10 years of experience in luxury wellness hospitality across the Maldives, India, and Bahrain, Dr. Shakkeel brings a holistic and personalized approach to wellbeing, inspired by his grandfather, a respected Ayurvedic healer. His work integrates classical Ayurveda, therapeutic acupuncture, yogic relaxation, and modern wellness diagnostics to support balance, immunity, and long-term vitality.
Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences and advanced acupuncture training from the Jing Well Academy, Dr. Shakkeel begins each guest journey with a comprehensive assessment, including Tridosha analysis, tongue and pulse diagnosis, ensuring treatments are tailored to individual needs.
During his residency at Ifuru Island Maldives, guests can experience Therapeutic and Cosmetic Acupuncture, Kalari Marma Therapy, Sleep Enhancing Therapy, Detox Ayurveda Cleanse, Posture Alignment Therapy, immersive Ayurvedic rituals, restorative bodywork, and guided meditation sessions inspired by the island’s natural environment.
Dr. Shakkeel’s residency forms part of Ifuru Island Maldives’ ongoing commitment to building a rotating Visiting Practitioner program, designed to introduce globally experienced wellness experts and offer guests meaningful, results-driven wellness journeys.
Guests are invited to begin their experience with a complimentary Ayurveda or Wellness Consultation.
