Carefully planned yet effortlessly organic, Siyam World Maldives set the stage for two unforgettable football experiences as Fernando Torres and Mark Noble transformed the festive holidays into shared moments of play and discovery.  Phones stayed tucked away, screens forgotten, and more than fifty young players found themselves fully present in moments of movement, laughter and island magic.

Fernando Torres at Siyam World

Over two sun-filled days, former World Cup champion Fernando Torres hosted an exclusive kids’ camp for resort guests, welcoming more than fifty young players aged between four and fourteen. Mornings that began in the lagoon naturally drifted onto the football pitch. Holidays quietly transformed into shared moments, relaxed, energetic and refreshingly free of whistles. Torres, affectionately known as El Niño, brought the same passion that saw him lift the World Cup with Spain and the Champions League with Chelsea just with a little more laughter and a lot more sand nearby. He joined in fully, encouraging the youngest players, playing alongside them, and offering tips without ever taking the fun too seriously. One light-hearted moment captured the spirit perfectly: a four-year-old attempted to nutmeg him. It didn’t quite work, but the laughter that followed set the tone for the rest of the camp.

“The kids don’t really care who you are,” Torres said. “They just want to play. That’s when it feels right.” Parents watched from the sidelines, realising somewhere between kick-off and sunset that something special was happening.

We came for the sunshine and the water park,” said Sarah M., visiting from London. “Seeing our eight-year-old playing football with Fernando Torres wasn’t something we expected. He hasn’t taken his signed jersey off since.”

Mark Noble’s Five Day Camp

Earlier in December, Siyam World also welcomed Mark Noble, the eighteen year West Ham United legend known as Mr West Ham. Leading a five day football programme, Noble swapped boardrooms for cones and gentle reminders to pass the ball, fully engaging with every child while bringing his signature humility, leadership and warmth to the island setting. By the end, the camp felt less like a structured programme and more like one of those moments families remember in fragments, a shared laugh, a favourite photo, a story retold long after the holiday ends. For the children, it was two days of football. For their parents, it became a defining memory of their time at Siyam World.
