Sun Travels officially entered a bold new chapter on 27th November 2025, unveiling a revitalized brand identity and a next-generation digital booking platform. This incredible chapter marks a significant milestone in the company’s 35-year journey.

The official launch event took place on 27 November at Sun Siyam Olhuveli, led by Founder, Chairman and Managing Director Hon. Ahmed Siyam Mohamed, and brought together Sun Travels partners, senior leaders from Sun Siyam and Head Office, as well as invited media representatives to celebrate this important milestone.

In 1990, with only USD 900 in personal savings and no financial backing, Mr. Ahmed Siyam Mohamed founded Sun Travels & Tours. What began as a small and determined agency would, over the next thirty-five years, evolve into a billion-dollar hospitality group with internationally recognised resorts and a trusted global partner network. Today, this legacy stands at the heart of the brand’s evolution.

With the transformation, Sun Travels launched a fully rebuilt digital platform powered by a next-generation Juniper booking engine. This new system guarantees swift and hassle-free bookings. Designed as a comprehensive Maldives travel marketplace, it distributes resorts, transfers, excursions, dive packages, flights, holiday bundles, and independent services.

Siyam World Maldives Strengthens Leadership with Two Key Promotions

Siyam World Maldives has promoted Alee Siyam from Executive Assistant Manager to Director of Operations, and Giselle Encinareal from Director of Talent and Culture to Executive Assistant Manager. These promotions highlight the resort’s continued investment in its people and reinforce its commitment to nurturing exceptional leaders who shape the heart and soul of Siyam World.

Giselle has stepped into the role of Executive Assistant Manager, bringing with her over two decades of experience across some of the Maldives’ most notable luxury properties. Since rejoining Sun Siyam in 2022, she has become a cornerstone of the resort’s culture. As Director of Talent and Culture at Siyam World, she championed growth, learning, and care across all teams. In her new position, she will oversee the resort’s Back-of-House pillars including Talent and Culture, Learning and Development, and Quality Assurance.

Alee has been appointed Director of Operations, celebrating a remarkable journey that began with Sun Siyam Resorts in 2016. From completing the Management Trainee programme to playing a key role in Siyam World’s pre-opening, Alee has grown through the ranks with focus, humility, and a deep understanding of guest experience. His move into this new role sees him leading the resort’s full operational landscape, guiding teams, enhancing service flow, and shaping memorable experiences with his trademark calm and forward-thinking approach.

Siyam World Maldives Makes Global History with Guinness World Records Title:

On 5th December 2025, Siyam World Maldives made global history by earning a Guinness World Records title for The Most People Snorkeling Simultaneously at a Single Venue. Hosted in partnership with Freedive Maldives, Siyam World rallied an incredible 307 snorkelers from guests, neighbors, and ocean lovers across the region, turning the house reef into a spectacular sea of fins and fun. Guinness World Records officials flew in to verify every detail, and for the first time ever in the Maldives, every participant received an official Guinness World Records medal, making “Snorkel World 300” a milestone etched not only in record books but also in everyone’s memories.
