The highly anticipated North Kaafu Zone of the Tekkers Dhiraagu Resort Cup 2025 officially kicked off on 15th October 2025, hosted by Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa. As the final zone of the prestigious tournament, the opening day was marked by a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship, teamwork, and local culture.
The evening began with a lively dance performance by the Sheraton Dance Team, setting an energetic tone for the ceremony. Players and referees entered the field to the FIFA anthem, followed by the Maldivian national anthem. The distinguished General Manager of Sheraton Maldives, Greg Allan, greeted the players, officially welcoming them to the North Kaafu Zone.
Following the introductions, Tekkers Director, Dr. Hussain Sunny Umar, delivered opening remarks, highlighting the unity and passion the tournament continues to foster across the Maldives. The evening also featured the presentation of the official zone trophy and a speech by Sheraton GM Greg Allan, who then performed the ceremonial ball signing. The opening concluded with a symbolic kick-off, as the GM sent the ball into the goal to mark the start of the North Kaafu Zone matches.
The first match of the night saw the hosts Sheraton Maldives dominate Kurumba Maldives, securing a commanding 4–0 victory. Sheraton took control early, leading 2–0 in the first half before adding two more goals after the break to seal a confident win.
In the second game, OBLU Select Sangeli showcased their attacking prowess, defeating Kuda Villingili Resort with a decisive 4–0 victory. Sangeli took the lead before halftime and continued their momentum to close out the match in style.

The action continued on 16th October, with Joy Island defeating OBLU Nature Helengeli by Sentido in a convincing 3–0 performance. Meanwhile, Baros Maldives edged out Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru in a thrilling 3–2 contest.
As the excitement builds, Match Day 3 takes place today, Friday, 17th October, featuring Bandos Maldives vs. Hilton Maldives Amingiri and Meeru Maldives vs. OBLU Xperience Ailafushi.
