At Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa Maldives, efforts took root both above and below water. A coral garden nestled between the Water Bungalows and the Reception became the focal point of regeneration, as guests and colleagues worked side by side to affix live coral fragments onto specially designed iron frames. The resort’s dedication also extended to land, with a plastic clean-up initiative at Muli Island and a beach cleanup on its picturesque sandbank island showcasing the resort’s commitment to reducing environmental harm and nurturing surrounding communities.

Meanwhile, at Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives, the team orchestrated a full day of awareness and action. The day began with coral replanting session where guests joined alongside staff in understanding the fragile dynamics of underwater ecosystems and the importance of responsible interaction. This was followed by a tree planting programme that brought greenery to new areas of the island, adding a long-term contribution to climate resilience and island biodiversity. In tandem with these initiatives, the resort hosted a sustainability awareness session that invited guests to explore the broader challenges facing island environments today.

Over at Cinnamon Velifushi Maldives, the focus shifted to reforestation and community collaboration. In support of the nationwide ‘5 Million Trees Project’, over 50 new trees were planted across the island, with contributions from both staff and in-house guests. A nearby beach cleanup at Keyodhoo Island further reinforced the resort’s efforts to reduce pollution and enhance biodiversity in surrounding areas.

Ellaidhoo Maldives by Cinnamon continued the momentum, engaging in both coral propagation efforts and terrestrial restoration, ensuring that land and sea receive equal care and attention. As part of this commitment, the resort planted 35 fruit-bearing plants across the island and the in-house marine biologist hosted interactive sessions for guests, shedding light on the fragility of coral ecosystems, the impact of climate change, and the role responsible tourism can play in ocean conservation.
