Sun Siyam Resorts has announced the appointment of Florante Abuton Jr. as Assistant PR and Communications Manager at Sun Siyam Olhuveli. With over 11 years of international experience in hospitality marketing and public relations, Florante has held key roles with renowned global brands, including Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts, Nissan Middle East, Marriott International, Hilton Hotels, Emaar Hospitality, and Lapita Dubai Parks and Resorts.

After a brief tenure in Seychelles with an international hotel chain, Florante returns to the Maldives as Assistant PR and Communications Manager at Sun Siyam Olhuveli, ready to further amplify the resort’s global presence. He initially joined Sun Siyam Resorts at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi in the same role in late 2022. His efforts supported sustainability and marine conservation programs, orchestrated successful events, and forged strategic collaborations that elevated the resort’s global profile. Highlights of his tenure include partnerships with Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Holidays for an exclusive press trip, as well as a collaboration with luxury Italian brand Carpisa, which brought widespread recognition to the resort. His expertise in brand storytelling, media engagement, and innovative partnerships positioned Sun Siyam Iru Fushi as a standout destination in the Maldives.

Florante will oversee public relations initiatives, manage media relations, and develop strategic campaigns aligned with the resort’s objectives. Collaborating closely with the Group Director of PR and Communications, he aims to ensure Sun Siyam Olhuveli remains competitive in the Maldives market. With a proven track record of managing high-profile media trips and securing international media coverage, Florante’s appointment signals a commitment to innovation and excellence.
