SIX & SIX PRIVATE ISLANDS has announced the launch of its first development phase, which will introduce six luxury resorts across the Maldives. The first two resorts will open in South Malé Atoll in 2025 and 2026, with each property offering a distinctly unique stay while adhering to a unified philosophy centered around bespoke guest experiences.
SIX & SIX is redefining traditional luxury with a guest-centric approach that goes beyond typical resort personalization. Guests will have complete control over their dining, exploration, relaxation, and wellness experiences. Personalized wellness programs will be tailored by expert health and nutrition specialists, alongside personal trainers, using state-of-the-art facilities and techniques. Additionally, the resorts will offer exclusive opportunities to engage with the Maldives' vibrant nature and cultural heritage, crafting a holistic travel experience.
Laith Pharaon, Co-founder and CEO of SIX & SIX, brings his expertise from the lifestyle-hospitality sector to ensure that each resort stands out in the Maldives’ competitive luxury landscape. By eliminating the standardization common in most resorts, Pharaon focuses on creating extraordinary moments that allow guests to connect with the true essence of the Maldives. “The Maldives offers the ultimate in natural luxury,” says Pharaon. “At SIX & SIX, we aim to elevate the guest journey by offering them the time, space, and freedom to truly enjoy themselves. By removing unnecessary distractions, we focus on delivering unparalleled experiences to those who already have it all.”
The first resort, RAH GILI MALDIVES, is set to open in Q4 2025. Situated on the edge of South Malé Atoll next to an exclusive dolphin sanctuary, this resort promises a perfect blend of nature and luxury. The 74 pool villas, including 38 overwater options, will range from 120 to 200 square meters, each with a private pool. The resort’s sleek design and dynamic social spaces will offer an exciting yet exclusive atmosphere for discerning travelers. In 2026, the ultra-luxury DHON MAAGA MALDIVES will open, also in South Malé Atoll. This extravagant resort will feature some of the Maldives' most spacious and opulent villas, including 31 overwater and 25 beach villas ranging from 250 to over 400 square meters. The villas will come complete with 16-meter pools, semi-precious gem inlaid bathtubs, and serene courtyards.
A range of world-class amenities, including private jet transfers, a vast wine cellar, a state-of-the-art spa, and top-tier restaurants, will solidify the resort’s status as one of the most luxurious in the world. Marc Gussing, Director of Operations, shares, “Our resorts will offer truly unique, first-of-their-kind experiences, with each journey thoughtfully crafted from start to finish. Our goal is to become the go-to operator for travelers who demand exceptional customization and want to create their ideal story. After nearly 15 years in the Maldives, I am thrilled to be part of this new chapter in the island nation’s luxury hospitality.”
SIX & SIX is committed to both luxury and sustainability, with a strong focus on preserving the Maldives' environment and supporting local communities. The company has ambitious environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals, including the use of solar power, zero waste to landfill, local sourcing, reef rehabilitation, and community outreach programs. These initiatives aim to protect the Maldives’ pristine environment while enriching the local way of life.
