Emirates has taken delivery of its first Airbus A350-900, registered A6-EXA, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the airline’s fleet expansion. This is the first of 65 A350 aircraft Emirates will receive in the coming years, representing the airline’s first new aircraft type to join its fleet since 2008.
The official handover took place in Toulouse, France, where the aircraft was presented to Emirates. This addition highlights Emirates' ongoing commitment to fleet modernization, with the A350-900 offering state-of-the-art technology and enhanced fuel efficiency, promising an improved travel experience for passengers.
In line with its sustainability initiatives, Emirates powered the delivery flight using a blend of jet fuel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), demonstrating its dedication to reducing its carbon footprint and fostering eco-friendly practices within the aviation industry.
The aircraft will soon undergo final preparations at Emirates Engineering in Dubai before a special unveiling event later this week. Set to enter commercial service in January 2025, the A350-900 will debut on a flight to Edinburgh, with additional routes to follow across the Middle East, West Asia, and Europe.
Known for its advanced aerodynamics, quieter cabin, and better fuel efficiency, the Airbus A350-900 will provide passengers with a more comfortable and environmentally responsible flying experience. Emirates continues to prioritize sustainability while ensuring its passengers receive exceptional service.
The introduction of the A350-900 is a significant milestone for Emirates as it modernizes its fleet, enhances operational capabilities, and reinforces its commitment to both innovation and sustainability.
